HP Omen 15 in laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just bought and received the new 5800h, 3070 laptop from Omen and the CPU/GPU temps are WAY too high. Instead of letting me return the item, they demand I submit a support request first. when I go to try to submit the support request and register myprodcut, the site loops back to the home support page, so I have no way to submit a request. Incredibly frustrating and not sure what else to do. Any advice?

@Mistablue  what are the temps your are seeing? Is it in the high 50's at idle?

There have been a few instances like this happening and reinstalling Windows solved most issues.

I really encourage you to try this before returning the laptop.

You can use the HP Cloud recovery tool (32GB pen drive required).

Or

MS Media Recovery Tool (8GB pen drive required) (choose custom install and delete all partitions).

Using the Reset function inside Windows did not work. Users had to clean install with one of the options above.

If you have questions, it does not work, or you are just too upset to try it, let me know and I will ask the Moderators to have someone contact you during the week via this forum.

I have tried wiping and reinstalling windows, and no change. I can't even get in contact with support because I get an error after registering my device: Capture.PNG

I'll ask the mods to have HP contact you. Might not reach out to you till the weekday though.

I had a different question to ask but am facing the same loop trying to reach customer support. At one point I managed to break it and reach the live chat option, however the window froze and I had to start over and now it keeps going like this:

- I click Contact Support in the menu

- I click Contact an HP agent for support

- I select my model of laptop

- I am returned to the Contact Support page that I started from

@Mistablue   I was informed an Agent will be reaching out to you in the next couple days.

@gabriella_s  Could be that feature has become disabled over the weekend. Please post your own thread and also explain the issue you have, so we can escalate your post also.

Hi@Mistablue,gabriella_s,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is overheating.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I would like to inform you that 90C is normal on the gaming computer. I recommend you use the Omen command center to change the settings which suit your needs.
