Does your laptop battery charge only when the laptop is turned off? Click here to view the solution

I am experiencing an issue with my HP Victus 16 laptop running Windows 11 Home. The laptop is not turning on. When I connect it to the charger, it shows that it is charging, but pressing the power button only causes the power button LED to blink in orange colour repeatedly, and the laptop does not start.

I have attempted the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Detached and reconnected the battery (tried turning if on)– No results.
  2. Held the power button to turn the laptop off and then tried turning it back on – No results.

The issue persists, and I need guidance on how to resolve it.

Laptop Specifications:

  • Model: HP Victus 16
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Home
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Storage: 512 GB SSD

What caused the problem in the first place?
Power glitch? Upgrade to windows 11?
Microsoft or HP update? Add a new device, memory, etc?
BIOS upgrade that went wrong?

Try a hard reset

  • Turn on the computer by holding the power button down for 20 full seconds then release.
  • Press the Power button one more time (if necessary) to start the computer..

any blinking lights?

I dont know what is the issue. As i connect my charger, the LED light indicating charging, is blinking in sync with the power LED.
