Does your laptop battery charge only when the laptop is turned off? Click here to view the solution
HP Recommended

Hi,

I have an HP Victus 16-s0001nb that started showing random black screens during normal use and gaming — the fans would stay on and sound continued briefly, but the display went black and went into the windows lockscreen.

Now the laptop no longer powers on at all — no keyboard lights, no display, and the power button doesn’t respond. The charging LED still turns on and is white, indicating the battery is charged, but the system remains completely dead.

I already tried(when the System was still operational):

HP UEFI hardware diagnostics (no issues found)

BIOS recovery (Windows + B) and hard reset

Reinstalling NVIDIA drivers

Leaving the laptop unplugged overnight

UPDATE:

I was able to reboot the laptop by unplugging the internal battery and pressing power for 60s and then replug the battery. After doing this the power button becomes responsive again and i can power on the laptop, but after some time the screen goes black again.

Plugging in external screen reveals laptop is still running when  laptop screen turns black, usb mouse remains operational on external screen. It sometimes randomly reinitialises the external screen, sometimes the laptop screen then turns on again, sometimes not.

When the screen on my laptop is black my main desktop is show on the external screen, when my laptop screen is not black the external monitor shows an empty desktop.

Also notable: the keyboard still does not work when my laptop screen is black and shows No lights, and charging Light acts like normal.

I also exprienced a hang while in bios, this time the beeping noise kept looping and the screen froze but did not turn black.

Could you please help solve this problem?

Thanks in advance,
