Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598V2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I am facing sudden fps drops in any games I play. Even the games which are below my system's requirements are stuttering with a sudden fps drop from 60 to around 7-10fps. I have purchased this laptop 3-4 months back and this issue is happening since the last 1 month. I have tried reinstalling graphics drivers, different versions from the AMD and HP websites that fit my machine but the problem is still there. I very disappointed with this performance from a brand like HP as I bought this laptop with a lot of expectation. Kindly help me fix this issue. Thanks.

Hi @debarshi2484,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds frustrating to experience such sudden drops in FPS, especially on a relatively new laptop. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can do this through the device manager or by visiting the manufacturer's website.

Check Power Settings: Make sure your laptop is set to "High Performance" in the power settings to ensure maximum performance during gaming.

Check for Background Processes: Close any unnecessary background processes and applications that may be using up system resources.

Monitor Temperature: Use software to monitor your laptop's temperature while gaming. Overheating can cause performance issues. Ensure the cooling vents are clear of dust and debris.

Adjust In-Game Settings: Lower the graphics settings in your games to see if it improves performance. You can also try running the games in windowed mode or at a lower resolution.

Check for Malware: Run a malware scan to ensure your system is not infected, as malware can impact performance.

Update Windows: Ensure that Windows is up to date, as updates can sometimes improve system stability and performance.

Check for BIOS Update: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop, as this can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, it may be helpful to contact the phone support for further assistance.
