My son's HP Victus gaming laptop will not stay on. When the power button is hit the light on the power button stays on for a second or two, then goes off. The charger light on the side of the laptop is on when plugged in, so I'll take a stab that it's not a battery issue. When the power button is held down, the light will come on, go off in a second or two, come back on, and then the same. Twice, after holding the button down, the power light stays on, but the screen is blank. Once, the login screen appeared, my son put in the password and then the computer shut down. Any help would be appreciated.

Does the battery charge?
Can the laptop be used with the power adapter plugged in?
If you do not identify your desktop or laptop PC, you add unnecessary steps that include a request to do that from us
When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue
Type in msinfo32 and press enter.
The ninth line in the system summary list on the right hand side is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.
The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.
