Does your laptop battery charge only when the laptop is turned off? Click here to view the solution

I own a HP Victus 16-e0xxx. Some time ago the left hinge broke despite handling the device with utmost care. After researching online I found several others facing the same issue and that it was a manufacturing problem. To avoid any further damage I have been using the laptop mostly like a desktop, without even closing the lid unless unavoidable but the situation still got worse. The right hinge too, seems broken now.

Would changing the hinges actually fix the laptop or would they break again in some time? Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.
