But when i booted it up on 22nd of June,2025; My HP Victus laptop's CPU fan has started to make a lot of sound even while not doing anything other than keeping the pc on. Hi @Ozaaann,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for the detailed description; it helps narrow down the issue. Given that your Victus by HP 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop (16-r1000, Windows 11) was working fine before, but now suddenly the CPU fan is loud, vibrating, and possibly loose, here’s what you need to know and do.

Recommended Steps:

1. BIOS Restore:

1) Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in

2) Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.

3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.

4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

2. Update BIOS & HP System Software

Sometimes fan profiles go out of calibration due to firmware.

If the BIOS update is available, install it before opening the device.

3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Check if HP detects a fan issue:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Press ESC repeatedly at startup, then F2 for diagnostics.
  • Choose Component Tests > Fan.

If it reports “Fan not operating correctly”, that's confirmation of a hardware issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
