Battery Charging Issues: HP Pavilion 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC
If your HP Pavilion gaming laptop's battery is not charging and you have run a battery health test which indicates the battery fuse is blown, it’s essential to address and troubleshoot the issue accordingly.
Steps to Troubleshoot the Battery Issues:
Restart the Computer:
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve charging issues. Shut down your laptop entirely and then power it back on.
Check the AC Adapter and Connections:
- Verify that your AC adapter is correctly connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
- Ensure that the power connector and ports are clean and free of debris.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the AC adapter.
- Remove the battery if it’s removable.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Connect the AC adapter (without the battery if removable) and try to power on the laptop.
Test the AC Adapter:
- Check to see if your AC adapter is functioning correctly. If you have access to another compatible adapter, test it with your laptop.
Enable Adaptive Battery Optimizer (if applicable):
- Since your laptop falls under the category that supports HP's Adaptive Battery Optimizer technology, make sure it is enabled by following these steps:
- Start or restart the computer.
- Press F10 to enter HP Computer Setup (F10 setup).
- Select Configuration.
- Change the status to Enabled.
- Save the change and Exit.
