I have a Victus 15-fb2000, I recently upgraded my NVME to a 1TB one by Lexar, I installed windows and all the drivers, but I started getting error for two updates, specifically install error-0x8000ffff.

I tried to repair windows, that is when I encounter another problem, my TPM isn't compatible for the windows, I checked the BIOS, but in the BIOS it shows that my TPM is enabled, although if I check my windows by running "tpm.msc" it shows that no TPM version is found,

Additional Info: i tried a few troubleshooting steps, my BIOS is updated.

i really need to fix this solution for this problem, because it is causing many problems for me.

Hi @MR_UNKN0WN8014,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your Victus laptop is showing TPM not detected in Windows even though it’s enabled in BIOS, and you’re also facing Windows Update installation errors. Let’s go through a few steps to isolate and fix this.

a. Confirm TPM Status in BIOS

Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then select F10 to enter BIOS.

Go to Security > TPM Device or Trusted Platform Technology, ensure it is set to Enabled.

Save and exit using F10.

b. Check TPM in Windows Security Settings

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Device Security.

If it says Security processor not available, move to the next steps.

c. Enable TPM via PowerShell

Right-click Start > select Windows PowerShell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).

Type the following command and press Enter:

wmic /namespace:\\root\CIMV2\Security\MicrosoftTpm path Win32_Tpm get /value

If no values are returned, the OS is not detecting TPM.

d. Clear TPM (Only if No Important BitLocker/Data Encryption is Used)

Restart the laptop and go into BIOS > Security > TPM Device.

Select Clear TPM or Restore TPM to Factory Defaults.

Save and reboot.

Once in Windows, run tpm.msc again to check if it’s detected.

e. Check BIOS Mode & Secure Boot

Press Win + R, type msinfo32, press Enter.

Ensure BIOS Mode = UEFI and Secure Boot State = On.

If Secure Boot is Off, enable it from BIOS > Security > Secure Boot.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply, but even before your reply I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps, except enabling TPM from power shell, it was getting tough to do work as many applications won't work because of the .NET update was having error, in the end I just reinstalled windows because nothing would work.

Hi @MR_UNKN0WN8014,

Thanks for the update and for sharing what you’ve tried. I understand this has been frustrating, especially with reinstalling Windows and dealing with app compatibility issues.

Since you’ve already reinstalled Windows and confirmed BIOS settings, the next things to check are:

Verify BIOS Settings After Reinstallation

Ensure TPM is enabled in BIOS (Security → TPM Device), UEFI mode is active, and Secure Boot is On.

Sometimes after a fresh Windows install, BIOS settings can reset or Windows may not recognize TPM until Secure Boot is enabled.

Check for Device Manager Detection

Press Win + X → Device Manager → Security Devices.

Do you see “Trusted Platform Module 2.0” listed?

If not, Windows is still not detecting TPM even though BIOS shows it enabled.

Optional: Enable TPM via PowerShell

Open PowerShell as Admin and run:

wmic /namespace:\\root\CIMV2\Security\MicrosoftTpm path Win32_Tpm get /value

If nothing is returned, the OS isn’t detecting the TPM chip, which may indicate a firmware/hardware-level issue.

Windows Updates & .NET Issues

Make sure your system is fully updated using Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update.

If .NET updates are failing, try using the .NET Framework Repair Tool from Microsoft before retrying Windows Update.

I hope this helps.

I have tried everything, checked the TPM from the BIOS, it's active, even tried resetting the TPM, it never does, it's like the system turn it back on itself, and also my device still can't detect TPM, I even had to reinstall windows by RUFUS. Although now I can atleast update my windows.
