Try these steps:

Check Power Settings:

  • Open Windows settings (Windows Key + I).
  • Navigate to System -> Power & sleep.
  • Ensure that settings are configured correctly for when the device is plugged in.

Inspect the Battery Health:

  • Search for Windows PowerShell and run it as administrator.
  • Enter the command powercfg /batteryreport.
  • This generates a battery report that you can review for any health issues.

Update Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager (Windows Key + X -> Device Manager).
  • Expand the Batteries section.
  • Right-click the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and Battery Adapter, then select Update driver.

Run HP Support Assistant:

  • Launch the HP Support Assistant.
  • Go to “Check for updates and messages” to ensure all updates are installed.
  • Perform diagnostics to check for any hardware issues.

Check Physical Connections:

  • Examine the charging port and cable for physical damage or debris.
  • Try using a different outlet or paired connectors that are known to work.

Battery Reseating:

  • If your model allows, remove and reseat the battery properly, then try plugging it in again.

I hope this helps.
