In the same  wifi my friends laptop has no issues in games . Can you help me solve these issue. Hi @Bhavesh7267

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are structured steps you can follow to address the network issue on your HP HyperX Omen 15 with the Realtek 8852BE-VT chipset:

Step 1: Reset Network Settings

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to Network & InternetAdvanced network settings.
  3. Select Network reset and restart the system after completion.

Step 2: Configure Wireless Adapter Settings

  1. Press Windows + R, type devmgmt.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Expand Network adapters → right-click Realtek 8852BE-VT Wireless LANProperties.
  3. Under the Advanced tab:
    • Set Preferred Band to 5GHz if your router supports it.
    • Set Roaming Aggressiveness to Medium-Low.
    • Set Transmit Power to Highest.
    • Disable 802.11n/ac/ax compatibility only if your router is older and does not support these standards.

Step 3: Disable Power Saving Features

  1. In the same adapter Properties, go to the Power Management tab.
  2. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  3. Press Windows + ISystemPower & batteryAdditional power settings.
  4. Select High Performance plan and ensure Wireless Adapter Settings → Maximum Performance.

Step 4: Flush and Renew IP Configuration

  1. Open Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Run the following commands one by one:netsh winsock reset netsh int ip reset ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew ipconfig /flushdns
  3. Restart the system.

Step 5: Update Wireless Driver Manually

  1. Download the latest driver package for Realtek 8852BE-VT from the HP support site.
  2. In Device Manager, right-click the adapter → Update driverBrowse my computer → point to the extracted driver folder.
  3. Restart after installation.

Step 6: Test with Alternate Network

  • Connect to a different Wi-Fi network or mobile hotspot to confirm if the issue persists.
  • If stable on another network, adjust router settings (channel width, band steering, WPA2/WPA3 mode).

Step 7: Disable Background Apps During Gaming

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. End tasks that consume bandwidth (cloud sync, updates, streaming apps).
  3. In Settings → Gaming → Xbox Game Bar, disable if not required.

These steps should stabilize your connection during gaming sessions. Since your friends’ laptops work fine on the same Wi-Fi, the focus is on adapter configuration and driver optimization.

I dont understand what is wrong and also the college wifi has no restrictions and the wifi has no issue

Thanks for replying @Bhavesh7267

Since the issue only occurs on your college Wi-Fi and not on mobile data, the focus should be on how your system interacts with that specific network. Let’s go through precise steps to isolate and stabilize the connection:

Step 1: Forget and Reconnect to College Wi-Fi

  • Press Windows + INetwork & InternetWi-Fi.
  • Select Manage known networks.
  • Click your college Wi-Fi → Forget.
  • Reconnect manually by entering the credentials again.

Step 2: Set Static DNS

  • Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter.
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Properties.
  • Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)Properties.
  • Choose Use the following DNS server addresses:
    • Preferred: 8.8.8.8
    • Alternate: 8.8.4.4
  • Click OK and reconnect.

Step 3: Adjust Wireless Mode

  • Open Device ManagerNetwork adapters.
  • Right-click Realtek 8852BE-VTProperties.
  • Under Advanced, look for Wireless Mode or 802.11 Mode.
  • If available, set it to 802.11ac instead of ax (some institutional routers have compatibility issues with Wi-Fi 6).
  • Apply and restart.

Step 4: Disable Random Hardware MAC

  • Go to SettingsNetwork & InternetWi-Fi.
  • Click your college Wi-Fi → Properties.
  • Under Random hardware addresses, set it to Off.
  • Reconnect.

Step 5: Check Proxy and VPN Settings

  • In SettingsNetwork & InternetProxy, ensure Automatically detect settings is enabled and no manual proxy is set.
  • Disable any VPN while gaming to avoid disconnections.

Step 6: Test with IPv6 Disabled

  • In ncpa.cpl, right-click Wi-Fi adapter → Properties.
  • Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
  • Click OK and reconnect.

Step 7: Router-Specific Compatibility Since your friends connect fine, confirm if your laptop is assigned a stable IP by the college router. Some Realtek chipsets struggle with DHCP lease renewals on enterprise routers. Setting a static IP within the allowed range can help:

  • In IPv4 Properties, select Use the following IP address.
  • Enter an IP close to your friends’ (e.g., if theirs is 192.168.1.45, choose 192.168.1.60).
  • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Default gateway: same as router (e.g., 192.168.1.1).
  • DNS: as set in Step 2.

These steps specifically target compatibility issues between your Realtek adapter and institutional Wi-Fi setups. Since the connection works fine on mobile data, this confirms the hardware is functional. Please try these adjustments one by one and note if the stability improves during gaming sessions.
