Hp Omen 15 2018
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I bought my Hp Omen with 1050ti and 120hz screen but I've noticed these lines coming up where there's a shift in color. At first, I thought its because of low quality image but it appears everytime, in movies, in photoshop or even in lightroom or youtube. Normally Greys are okay but color shift is bad. I've attached reference images and also a link to a video in which it acts really weird. it only does this where the color shifts to dark color.https://drive.google.com/open?id=1bzhbA6r0L-pHrNVYFA85ZZ3AKTWLndtR

Also I've tried updating and reinstalling drivers of both, Nvidia 1050ti and intel 630 but it happens to be the same.

Im a content creator and it really annoys me a lot. Please help me with this!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I understand the difficulty with the problem.
I recommend checking if the issue appears on the BIOS screen (restart the computer and tap on F10 to access BIOS) This would confirm if it's either a hardware failure. And also, you can check the display on an external monitor or TV.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello! thanks for writing me back.

I checked the bios but since there are all plain in colors, i couldnt see anything wrong going on there.

Ive tried connecting it to my samsung LED via hdmi cable and it showed the same lines on bigger screen.

Do i need to update something or im missing something? please help!!!

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. As you've checked the display in bios and doesn't show up in the BIOS, it would confirm a software issue.

Let's update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.

Also perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hey, I checked hp support and yes it required around 9 updates including high definition display one too. I updated everything. The lines are a bit better but they're still there. They're lesser in sizes but they're appearing the same way. Im attaching more pictures.
