Hp omen 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

My hp Omen will startup and the fan will rattle loudly for the first 10-15 minutes until it warms up. Then the noise will fade mostly but I can still hear it a slight bit. I’ve used duster and that didn’t help. Do I need a new fan? And is that relatively simple to do yourself? I saw the part costs $29

thanks in advance,

Ben

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

One of the possibilities may be that the fan needs to be cleaned. I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, let's perform BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629  If the issue persists continue next step: Changing the System Power Scheme to Balance in the BIOS.

1.Turn on or restart the computer.

2.Press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup.

3.Select System Configuration.

4.Select Boot Options > System Power Scheme.

5.Change the option to Balance.

6.Select F10 to Save and Exit the BIOS.

7.Select Exit.

If the issue persists, refer to this article: https://hp.care/2fVoxVy (To resolve issues with the loud fan noise)
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
