Hello, I understand this is an old laptop, like from 2019, but i wasn't having any of these problems last year. (2024) The WASD Zone not lighting up problem showed up on mid (2025) I noticed that i wasn't the only one who was having these problems. I Tried doing the following Solutions,
. Reinstalling Keyboard Sources On Windows Device Manager.
. Updating Bios.
. Trying Multiple Straight Colour Waves.
. Trying to light up the WASD Zone in a different colour.
As you can see, I tried every solution given by HP Mods.( I appreciate their work) One thing to note also that the laptop's warranty is expired. ( Sorry for bad English, English isn't my first language) HP Devs, pls consider helping I'm really frustrated by this problem.

I understand the WASD keys on your HP OMEN 15 keyboard are not lighting up, even though the rest of the RGB zones work fine. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
a. Verify OMEN Gaming Hub Settings
Open OMEN Gaming Hub → Lighting → Keyboard.
Try switching between Animation, Static, and Custom lighting modes.
If the WASD keys remain dark, create a new custom lighting profile and assign a specific color only to the WASD zone.
b. Perform a Power Reset
Shut down your laptop completely.
Unplug the charger and any peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
Reconnect the charger (no external devices) and power it on.
Open OMEN Gaming Hub again and test the keyboard lighting.
c. Check for Firmware and Software Updates
Open OMEN Gaming Hub → Settings → Update.
Make sure both OMEN SDK and OMEN Lighting Service are up to date.
Also check Windows Update for optional driver updates (especially HP Keyboard or System Interface Foundation driver).
d. Reinstall OMEN Lighting and SDK Components
Go to Apps → Installed Apps → OMEN Gaming Hub.
Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub, OMEN SDK Service, and OMEN Light Studio.
Restart your laptop.
Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub from the Microsoft Store, which automatically reinstalls the required lighting services.
e. Test in BIOS
Restart the laptop and press Esc repeatedly → select F10 (BIOS).
If the keyboard lights up during the BIOS screen, the issue is software-related.
If the WASD keys stay dark in BIOS too, it’s likely a hardware (LED) failure in that zone.
I hope this helps.
