OMEN by HP 15t-ax200 CTO Laptop PC

The issue with my HP Omen revolves around its charging behavior. Strangely, it refuses to charge when turned on, only doing so in sleep mode or when completely powered off. Suspecting the charger as the culprit, my initial one displayed a momentary red light upon connection, followed by the charging indicator lights promptly extinguishing after a few seconds. Although the laptop briefly claimed it was charging during this period, there were no observable signs such as increased brightness. Opting for a new charger, I encountered a perplexing development as the charging problem persisted. Upon comparing the original and new chargers, I noted that the former had an input of 100 to 240 volts, 50 to 60 Hertz, and 2.5 amps, with an output of 19.5 volts and 7.7 amps. The replacement charger matched the output but had an input amps of 1.8 instead of 2.5. Upon connecting the new charger, the charging indicator transitioned from red to white after two seconds. This led me to question whether the reduced input amps might be hindering the charger's ability to power the laptop and charge simultaneously. Uncertain about the significance of input amps, I have exhausted software fixes and am hesitant to attempt BIOS or firmware updates to avoid potential damage. Seeking advice on whether the charger is to blame or if input amps truly matter in this scenario. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. The laptop works perfectly otherwise
