Even when I move the brightness slider up and down the brightness does not change, I have updated to the most current version.

have you tried using the keyboard commands? Hold FN and use F2 to increase brightness, F1 to reduce. Those are the shortcuts on my Omen 15

Yes I have tried that the slider moves but changes nothing

@TeakTurtle

I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp107001-107500/sp107259.exe

If you continue facing the issue, then install all the updates (Including optional) and check.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Select the Start (Windows) button from the bottom-left corner.
  2. Go to settings (gear icon).
  3. Select the Update and Security icon.
  4. Choose Windows Update tab in the sidebar (Circular arrows)
  5. Select Check for updates. If there is an available update, it will begin downloading automatically.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Updating BIOS, the drivers, and general system updates did nothing to fix the issue. Upon more research this seems to be a problem quite a few people are having recently. I brought my laptop back to bestbuy geek squad where I was told it was a hardware error so I returned the laptop. Other's with the same issue I talked to got the same response from the geek squad at bestbuy, and have returned them as well. I was quite disappointed given how expensive the laptop was, thank you for trying to assist but it seems to be a manufacturer issue

Bummer. Just purchased from BB and have the same issue.
