Hp pavillion 15 dk0050tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have an hp pavillion gaming laptop. It has an i7-9750h and a gtx 1650 and 8gb RAM. It also comes with an integrated intel graphics card.

The problem I found is that I don't get the fps that I should be receiving. I play csgo mostly and I only get 100fps even though it may seem high. It is not what I paid for.

I tried switching the graphics settings in Nvidia control panel , but I still get the same fps on both.

Previously I thought my cpu was the problem , I thought it was throttling. But it is not throttling at all.

I had a similar issue like this.  Couldn't figure out why performance.  I was something new as before system fps was high.  Found a setting on Gforce Experience for laptops called whisper mode.  After disabling it.  System was fully working normal again fps wise.

@Simplybest69 & @cervj Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing the FPS issue.

There are many ways to increase FPS and system performance:

  • Update the BIOS.

For desktop PCs, go to HP Desktop PCs - Updating the BIOS

For notebook PCs, go to HP Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS

  • Update the graphics driver.

Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, enter your PC model, then select the driver for your graphics card.

  • Most games allow you to change the graphics settings. Using a lower graphic quality often improves FPS.

  • Close any applications or programs that are not being used.

  • Turn on Game Mode. Game Mode is a new feature in Windows 10 Creators Update that improves gaming performance by limiting background processes and programs from using system resources while a game is running.

Thank you for your responses.

But unfortunately none of them gave me a fps boost.

When I tried lowering my graphics settings in-game I still get the same fps.

I've updated all drivers and BIOS.

I also found that even though my gtx 1650 is used for processing the graphics , the data is being sent to the display through the intel UHD graphics card. Apparently this is called Optimus technology and it improves my battery life. But this decreases my fps by a lot.

I tried disabling intel driver but it made things worse.

Is there a way I can change my laptop display connection to gtx 1650 instead of the intel?
