I booted my OMEN PC and it went to the EUFI with an HF1 message.  Ran all of the diagnostics multiple times and all systems pass.   when i exit the diagnostic screen it reboots to the press f2 for diagnostics.  I've exited the diagnostics and tried hitting the esc key but it goes back to the diagnostic screen.  I've tried pressing ESC, F1, F6, f8, f9, f10, f11 you name it and it still goes to the diagnostic screen.

@bayonet68, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Omen PC that shows an HF1 message!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

When your OMEN PC shows an HF1 message and continually boots to the UEFI diagnostics screen, even after running diagnostics and attempting various key presses, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check BIOS Settings:

Sometimes incorrect settings in the BIOS can cause boot issues.

  • Accessing BIOS:
    • Turn on or restart the computer.
    • Press esc while the "press the ESC key for Startup Menu" message is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
    • Press f10 to enter Computer Setup.

2. Restoring Factory BIOS Settings:

Restoring default BIOS settings can often resolve boot issues.

  • Restoring Defaults:
    • Use a pointing device or the arrow keys to select Main > Restore Defaults.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to restore default settings.
    • Save changes and exit by clicking the Save icon in the lower-right corner or select Main > Save Changes and Exit.
    • Restart the computer.

3. BIOS Update:

If the problem persists, ensure that the BIOS is updated to the latest version.

  • Updating BIOS:
    • For Windows 10: Visit the HP Support website, use HP Support Assistant to check for BIOS updates, and follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the latest BIOS update.
    • General Steps:
      • Ensure the computer is connected to reliable external power.
      • From the HP website, search for BIOS updates for your OMEN PC model.
      • Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the latest BIOS update.

4. Running HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI):

If you haven't already, you can use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) to run comprehensive tests to identify hardware issues.

  • Running Diagnostics:
    • Turn on or restart the computer, quickly press esc, and then press f2.
    • Select and run the desired diagnostic tests.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
