I'm using a Victus Laptop for business (not gaming) on Windows 11. My webcam suddenly stopped working. The laptop no longer recognizes that there is a Webcam. There is NO listing for Imaging Devices under the Device Manager nor is there an option under Action to scan for recent updates. There is nothing covering the camera and all the apps are currently set to "on" for using the camera. I'm guessing I need to reinstall a driver but unable to find on the HP website.

Hi @hash1213,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've covered some initial troubleshooting steps already. If your laptop's webcam isn't showing up in Device Manager, it's likely a driver issue. Here's a step-by-step guide to potentially resolve this:

Check HP's Website: Visit HP's official support website and search for drivers specifically for your Victus laptop model. Look for webcam drivers or chipset drivers, as sometimes webcam functionality is tied to the chipset.

Windows Update: Sometimes drivers are pushed through Windows Update. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any pending updates.

HP Support Assistant: If you haven't already, download and install HP Support Assistant. It can automatically detect and install the latest drivers and updates for your HP device.

BIOS Update: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop. Sometimes, webcam issues can be resolved by updating the BIOS firmware.

Hardware Check: Though less likely, it's still worth checking if there's any physical damage to the webcam or its connection to the motherboard. However, since you mentioned it suddenly stopped working, it's more likely a software issue.

System Restore: If the webcam was working previously and stopped after a recent update or software installation, you might consider using System Restore to revert your system to a previous state when the webcam was working.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
