Hi @swastikaabrol,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the insulated wires are showing on the adapter (charger) for your HP Victus i7 gaming laptop, it is important to address the issue promptly to avoid potential safety hazards such as electric shock or fire. Here are the steps you should take.

Stop Using the Charger Immediately:

  • Do not continue using the charger if any wires are exposed. This can pose a risk of electrical shock or further damage.

Inspect the Damage:

  • Carefully examine the extent of the damage. If it is a minor exposure, it might be tempting to repair it temporarily, but electrical safety is always a priority.

Replacement:

  • The safest and most recommended course of action is to replace the charger. Using a damaged charger poses significant risks and should be avoided.
  • Purchase a replacement charger directly from HP, an authorized retailer, or a reputable electronics store to ensure compatibility and safety.

Avoid DIY Repairs:

  • While there are do-it-yourself kits or electrical tapes available for insulating exposed wires, these are temporary and not guaranteed to be safe, especially for chargers and power supplies that handle more current.
  • DIY repairs might void the warranty or cause further issues, hence buying an original charger is recommended.

Taking prompt action to replace the charger ensures both user safety and the longer-term functionality of your device. Always prioritize safety when dealing with electrical equipment.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
