Is A "Fresh" Windows 11 Installation Possible?

Currently, I've found the only way to get Windows 11 onto my laptop, without issue, is by the HP Recovery disc. I would like to use the Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft for the installation but drivers are missing and the installation comes to a halt when you can't produce them. It takes more time to remove all the unnecessary items from the Recovery disc installation than it does to install Windows 11.

How can I get the drivers needed to install Windows 11 without using the recovery disc?

Can the drivers be extracted from the Recovery disc?

Is the "Supplemental" disc mentioned in the Windows 11 installation (from the Recovery disc) what is needed for the "traditional" Windows 11 installation?

Hi:

I have seen several posts on this forum where folks can't clean install W10/W11 on notebooks with the newer Ryzen processors such as what your notebook comes with because Windows can't find the hard drive.

The fix is easy on PCs with the Intel 11th gen core processors when this happens, but I have been unable to find similar instructions when that happens on notebooks with the 5th gen Ryzen processors.

I have researched the problem and found that there are AMD NVMe storage controller drivers for the Ryzen mobile processors, which I have zipped up and attached below.

Now there are 3 folders in this file, and I believe that the one you need to browse to in order to find the correct storage controller driver is the folder labeled rcbottom.

That is the only folder that contains storage controller hardware ID's.

Download, unzip and copy the folder to a USB flash drive.

When you get to the part where W11 can't find any drives, click on the Load driver option, browse to rcbottom driver folder, and if you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Hopefully, W11 will find the hard drive.

The source of all of this info I found at the link below and I have zipped up and attached the readme file which shows all of the driver info.  It is the 3rd driver listed under the W11 section...AMD RAID Driver (SATA, NVMe RAID)

Unfortunately, none of the files worked for me. I've moved on and just pruned the new install of the unwanted items then used clonezilla on the drive. .

I guess I'll go back to not answering any more 'no drives found on AMD platforms' again, because I am stumped.
