It may definitely cause a problem if the notebook's BIOS cannot adjust to the faster timing.

The BIOS is locked and there is no way to go in and make manual adjustments.

So, the memory may work, or it may not.

Why take chances?

Hi:

I'm thinking your notebook uses DDR4-3200 CL22.

CL11 is too fast a timing and may not work in your notebook.

Run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and it will show you the CL speed of the memory HP installed in your notebook.

My laptop's current ram is CL22 but i heard upgrading to lower latency doesnt cause a problem is that right?

You're very welcome.

I think that is a wise choice.

Last question: in web search i saw that HP omen 17-ck0000's maximum ram capacity allowed is 64 gb but in task manager it shows 32gb which one is true?

Some folks believe on these newer PC's running the Windows command to determine how much memory the PC can support is not as effective as it used to be.

The Crucial memory report is usually very accurate in what they indicate the maximum memory is, which in the case of your notebook, they indicate it is 64 GB.

Then there is the question...do you really need 64 GB of memory?

I run the Windows resource monitor app and see how much free memory my PC has before I decide to max it out.

For example, I have a Dell Optiplex 7020 MT business-class PC.

I dove right in and installed 4 x 8 GB of memory in it because that was the max.

The Windows resource monitor indicates as I am typing this reply that I have 26.6 GB of free memory out of the 32 GB.

Did I really need 32GB of memory?  I think not.

Hi, I checked CPU-Z and it shows that my ram's latency is CL15 but in Crucial's website it recommends CL22 rams. Should i bu CL15 or CL22?

I'm very surprised by that.

Use the utility that I zipped up and attached below to get the full specs of the memory chip HP installed.

This will include the manufacturer, part number, speed, latency etc.

I can't even find DDR4-3200 CL15 memory for sale.
