OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck2000 (70W99AV)

Iv had an on going issue with my cooling fans starting within the first 6 months of owning this laptop. Purchased in 08/23, the first ticket for this issue was opened in 02/24. For that ticket, support took control of my computer and adjusted my fan speeds. There were three tickets following for the same issue, in all instances the support tech remotes into my computer and checks for updates and/or adjusts fan speed.

Now, the fans do not function at all (Error 90B on startup)

I opened a ticket 09/24 (one month after warranty expiration) this time the tech tried for 15 minutes and said that we exhausted the trouble shooting and now repair is needed but I'm now out of warranty and will be billed.

Update: I took my computer in for repair at bestbuy geek squad and they told me it was a fault in the motherboard and needs replaced.

They quoted me $2989 to repair a computer I paid $1800 for a little more than one year earlier.

This definitely looks like hp purposeful avoided helping me fix my computer until after my warranty expired. Has anyone else had similar issues? Is there a warranty appeal that I could go for or was I scammed on hp?

Just got off with HP support for probably the 20th time. They purposely postponed my issue to after my warranty.

If you have an issue, go straight to other diagnostics. Hp WILL stagnate you to get passed your warranty.

This is my last hp product.

@Tlegacy, Welcome to HP support community!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I completely understand how frustrating this situation must be, and I’m really sorry to hear about the issues you’ve been facing with your laptop.

Based on what you’ve described, it sounds like you've been proactive in seeking support, and I truly appreciate your patience throughout this process.

Unfortunately, once a system is outside of its warranty period, any necessary repairs would come with a service charge. I know this isn’t the news you were hoping for, especially given that the issue started while your laptop was still under warranty.

That said, I’d like to take a closer look at your case history to see if there are any possible options. Could you please share your case ID with me via private message? I’ll go through the details and see how we can assist you further.

Looking forward to your response.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
