Omen 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was changing the thermal paste of my HP Omen 15, everything went fine, cleaned using alcohol and then I applied thermal grizzly but now it does not turn on.

when I reassembled and tryed to power on, the power button remained solid red, no screen, first thing I did was to check fans, right fan was working OK but left fan seemed slower.

Opened again to check if any flex or connector was loose but everything seemed in order, tryed again with same result, unmounted the cooling assembly and cleaned the new paste to check for any cracks in processor or gpu but everything seemed fine. Reassembled.

Tryed to power on again but nothing, only power button remained solid red , right fan working normal, left fan turned off about 6 seconds later, then about second 10 the right fan and power button turned off, only for everything to restar a couple of seconds later

I am leaving the battery disconnected for the moment, I also tryed pressing the power button for 20 seconds without the battery

Havent tryed with AC cord plugged yet

any help is appreciated

Hi @QvixoteRoux

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you

Due to the current global COVID-19 situation, we're seeing an influx of customers coming in for support. We appreciate your patience.

Have you tried using a different cord or different wall outlet ?

Have you tried with a different battery?(if available)

Note: HP does not recommend or support changing the thermal post

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
