My laptop seems like going into sleep mode right after a blue screen with "Locking" message and the fans blew at full blasts. I wonder if this overheating as the temperature is recorded at 75-78c but still not that really hot or because of the updates which I've suspected (BIOS update F.08, HP PC Hardware Diagnostics EUFI update and feature windows 10 update version 2004). This only affected when I'm playing dota 2 and assassin's creed origins, the others so far nothing happens eventhough the performance didnt drop. I purchased this laptop less than 3 month. Its quite annoying when you are in competitive game and suddenly the laptop goes to sleep mode.  Never had this problem before.

I used Hp omen command center to check the temperature, HP coolsense is on by default and I turned it off but still the same.

BIOS, Nvidia Driver is up-to-date.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

The laptop is up-to-date using HP Support Assistant  and also windows. But the problem still there.

I have read other forum from this site and have similar problem like mine. So it's clearly that the bios  causes this problem. I've tried to recover the bios to the previous version by pressing windows key+B and power button but the version is still the same which is F.08.

Bios Version: F.08

Try reinstalling the BIOS using a BIOS Recovery Drive

Tried the BIOS Recovery Drive but the problem still there.

I've notice that the (HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads) only offer 1 BIOS version which is F.08 and just tried installing it, hoping it will work but sadly not.

Waiting for the new update BIOS/fix for now then I supposed.

If the latest BIOS released is causing known problems, HP will release another updated version when available through HP Support Assistant and that might sort it out

Thank you
