Hello. So I'm currently having issues with my battery ( its swollen) and in need of replacement, so I started by going back to Pc world and asking for some advice. its something they can do however the replacement is something I can do myself. My question is are HP able to send out the battery I am in need of directly and how do I do this?

Hi:

Enter your notebook's serial number in the search box at the link below and see if it provides a battery part number and description.

HP PartSurfer

If it does, enter the part number in the search window at the link below and see if HP sells the battery you need.

HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts

If HP doesn't sell the battery you will have to see if you can find a compatible aftermarket battery on Amazon or eBay.

Consult the service manual on your notebook's support page for the battery removal and replacement procedure.

It's the second line in your screenshot...HP part number 917678-2B1

I checked the parts store by entering that part number and unfortunately, HP does not sell the battery.

You're very welcome.

The best thing to do is to not leave the battery in a constant 100% charge state.

I don't leave my notebooks plugged in.  That way there is always a very slow discharge of the battery.
