OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 17-w002np
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello guys,

so my hp omen decided not to charge anymore, that’s unless I shut it down or out it in sleep or hibernation mode. When i plug in the charger while its on, it shows charging for around 15 seconds then the logo goes away, and when i press on the battery icon, it Does Not show plugged in not charging, its just using the battery power. Tried everything, changed the adapter, uninstalled then reinstalled battery drivers. Nothing. Even formatted the whole computer. Still nothing. Would appreciate any kind of help from anyone.

Thanks.

@StarEater  Safe to assume the battery is still the original? Your laptop is 5 years old now and the original battery has finally bit the dust. You would need to replace it before it swells up and distorts the case.  HP doesn't sell them, you would have to find one online via a 3rd party mfg.

BTW is your charger 120w or 150w? There was a mistake when the first batch of systems with the 965M video cards left the factory and were given 120w chargers. It will still work, just might not fully charge while gaming on an intense game that's maxing out the system. Some users reported they had to recharge while the unit was powered off. But still in your case, the battery is old now. Just so you know.

Hey. Alright thanks for the advice. Yes I already ordered another battery waiting for its arrival. And yes its 120W not 150W. Thanks for letting me know.
