Hello!
I recently bought an Omen 16 inch laptop. The issue i have with it is that even when im doing absolutely nothing with it, the fans are active and producing a lot of noise. When i look in the control panel of the Omen gaming hub under temperature control i can alter the fan speeds. However it doesn't alow me to change the speed to anything lower than 2000 RPM. Regardless of temperature the fans are always on. I also use this laptop for work (mostly email and text editing) so the noise is really annoying. Is there a way to fix this or should i return the laptop?
I tried updating the Omen gaming Hub and also updating the BIOS. This didnt help.
Thanks for helping!

Hi:
Before you return the notebook, if the fans are always on when you have the power adapter plugged in, there is a setting in the BIOS to disable the 'Fan always on when on A/C power' setting.
The default setting is enabled.
If you have that setting disabled and the fans are always on whether or not the notebook is plugged in, then I don't know what the problem is, but it does not seem normal to me.

Thanks for replying! I can't find the setting "Fan always on when on A/C power" in my BIOS. Are you sure it is there?
The problem is also there when im not charging my laptop. It almost seems like a software error with the Omen Gaming Hub. It simply wont allow me to select anything lower than 2000RPM.
Is it possible to download an alternative Fan Control for my laptop?

You're very welcome.
I'm not sure about your notebook but every HP notebook I have ever owned has that setting.
The fans always running used to drive me crazy until I found out about that setting.
I have a HP 15-ee0047nr notebook (my newest one), and that setting in my notebook's BIOS is under the Configuration tab.
My notebook's BIOS has the following tabs:
Main Security Configuration Boot Options Exit
If the notebook does not have such a setting maybe that is because of the powerful GPU it comes with since it is a gaming notebook?
Mine only has the onboard Radeon Vega graphics adapter.
