Hi @Neel_15,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your laptop isn't turning on and shows no signs of power, even when connected to the charger, here are some steps you can follow to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Check Power Supply:
- Verify that the charger is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Test the charger with another compatible device if possible, or use a different charger with your laptop.
- Inspect the charging cable and adapter for any visible damage. Replace them if they appear frayed or damaged.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- For Most Laptops:
- Disconnect the charger.Remove the battery (if removable).Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.Reconnect the charger (without the battery if it's removable) and try turning on the laptop. If the battery is removable, reinsert it and try powering on the laptop.
3. Inspect Battery and Connections:
- If you cannot remove the battery, perform the hard reset as described above with just the charger.:
- If your battery is removable, ensure that it's properly seated and connected.
4. Check for Power Indicators:
- Look for any LED lights on the laptop that indicate power. If the LED is on but the screen is blank, the issue might be related to the display or graphics card.
- If the battery indicator shows charging but the laptop won’t start, the issue may be with the internal components.
5. Verify Power Source:
- Try plugging the charger into a different outlet to rule out any issues with the power source.r:
- If you are using a surge protector, try plugging the charger directly into the wall outlet.
6. Check for External Issues
- External Peripherals:
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.) to ensure they are not causing the issue.
- Docking Stations:
- If you use a docking station, try connecting the laptop directly to the power source.
7. Perform a CMOS Reset:
- If you are comfortable opening the laptop, you can try resetting the CMOS battery. This can sometimes resolve power issuesl:
- Check the laptop's manual or manufacturer’s website for instructions on how to perform a CMOS reset.
8. Check for Physical Damage:
- Look for any physical damage to the laptop, especially around the power port and connectors:
- Ensure the laptop is not overheating, which could prevent it from powering on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
