I’ve been recently playing games, and all of a sudden I find a FPS drop instinctively I look at my battery and it isn’t charging. My ac adapter is always plugged in so I turn off my computer and unplug it. And plug it back in, sure enough the light wasn’t on, when I ran the diagnostics tool I didn’t detect I had an ac adapter in. I don’t have another ac adapter I could test. I also tried usb type c to charge it but to no avail. I don’t know if it was because my type c wasn’t able to provide ample power or it was because of something else. As it says that I have a type c port with thunderbolt hp sleep and charge. The ac adapter that I have right now is a 200w. I’ve already disconnected the battery and reconnected it, tried to power it with just the cable plugged in which didn’t boot, power with the battery which did power on. And I’ve unplugged and repluged the components of the adapter itself. Which did not give me the amber light I usually see but gave me no light and no charging on the battery. Right now I think the issue lies with my ac adapter but I don’t have another’s one to try it on.

Hello @Nigmo
You cannot charge the laptop via USB-C. You must use the AC adapter.
You say you disconnected the battery and tried to run the PC with the power adapter only, but that did not work?
You might either have a bad AC Charger, or something has failed on the motherboard.
Are you still under warranty? If so, you need to contact HP Support directly for a warranty issue.
