Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop screen randomly goes off when I'm using the laptop either for work or gaming but the laptop is still on and I can hear the sounds from my game or desktop etc . I noticed this has happened when it's connected to the charger and without charger. Could you tell me what  to do as this is a brand new laptop? Its about a few weeks old.

Hello @Kiran14

That is odd. Have you tried going into the Control panel> Power options and changing the 'Turn off the display' settings to Never both on battery and adapter?

Search for Control Panel and go to Power Options.

Then on your power plan, click on Change plan settings.

On Turn off the display, change it to never on battery and adapter.

That should fix it.

Hi .@Photoray002

I have already done that but the screen still randomly goes off while I'm using it. My work will still be going on in the background and the only way to turn my screen back on is to power off the laptop with the power button and then turn it back on.

Run the diagnostics for a hardware issue just to rule out any problems there.

F2 at power on will access the diagnostics. Run the extensive tests for everything.

Then since its new, I would contact HP Support for warranty help. YOu are entitled as it is a new purchase.
