Does your laptop battery charge only when the laptop is turned off? Click here to view the solution

I have a HP Omen laptop Model 15-en00001ax which has amd ryzen 5 4600h cpu and 1650ti 4gb gcard from nvidia.

The problem is that despite being a gaming laptop the screen is only 60hz and it feels a lot laggy when playing.

My question is that whether it is possible to replace the screen with 144hz panel because I know the upper models of the same series came with 144 hz display and 1660ti gcard.

I am unsure of the connector pin whether it is 30 pin or 40 pin.

I am attaching an image for the serial number and model number if it helps.

Hi @Jazztecho13,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Upgrading your HP Omen 15-en00001ax laptop's display!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Connector Pin Compatibility:

  • Ensure the new 144Hz display panel has the same connector type and pin configuration as your existing 60Hz panel. Display panels can come with different connectors like 30-pin or 40-pin eDP connectors.
  • Verify with technical specifications whether both panels use the same connector and pin configuration.

Physical Dimensions and Mounting Points:

  • It is essential to check that the physical dimensions (such as panel size, thickness, and mounting points) match those of the original display to ensure a proper fit.

Cable and Bandwidth:

  • Verify if the current display cable supports the increased bandwidth required for a 144Hz panel. In some cases, you may also need to upgrade the cable to handle higher refresh rates.

Graphics Card Capability:

  • Your laptop’s GTX 1650 Ti GPU should be able to drive a 144Hz panel, but it’s essential to verify that it supports such a high refresh rate through the internal display interface.

BIOS and Firmware:

  • Ensure that your laptop's BIOS and firmware support the new panel. Sometimes compatibility issues can arise if the firmware doesn't support higher refresh rates.

I hope this helps.
