HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had my HP Pavilion gaming laptop for just over a year, and for the past few months there has been an occasional crackling/buzzing/fluttering noise coming from my speakers (On the right hand side, if that matters), at first it was bearable and didn't happen all the time but now it happens all the time and is quite loud.

 

This happens whenever i am listening to/watching something with audio. If i mute or turn my volume all the way down it still happens, even with no sound coming out. It stops instantly when the video/music is stopped.

 

I have tried certain things like updating my drivers, and disabling/re enabling them but nothing has worked and am starting to think it could be hardware?

 

And help would be appreciated, my warranty and care pack are still in date so not sure if i should get it sent back to repair?

Please do a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.


(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
                    https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp100001-100500/sp100428.exe

      or older software

                   https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96001-96500/sp96442.exe

(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

 

            Note: you may have to use older software.
