Laptop wants a bitlocker recovery key, never made one, what are my options

Victus by HP gaming, there was a BIOS update and now it wants a Bitlocker recovery key witch I never set up or saved. Now it's starting to seem that my only option is factory reset, as the recovery environment tool fails to launch. I'd really like to avoid losing all my Data so is there another option here?
