HP Omen (unsure of model number)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had recently gotten a new computer, so I had shut down and taken the hard drive out of my HP Omen laptop to plug into my new computer to transfer some data over to this new computer. When I put the hard drive back into my laptop, it refused to start. I plugged it in and no lights indicating it is charging. Maybe I accidentally unplugged something whilst I was taking the hard drive out, but I had triple check to make sure everything was back where it should be.

Very strange way to copy files.  How did you plug it to new computer ? New computer may write something to it boot sector and make it un-bootable.

Regards.

I had a little cable that let me plug the hard drive in directly to a usb port on the new computer. I had figured that it'd be quicker than uploading the files online or to a flash drive, then downloading them to the new computer. I hadn't even thought the new computer might do something like overwrite something on the hard drive when I was only reading and copying files. I had also thought that since the operating system was on a SSD in the laptop, that it would be fine.
