HP Laptop PC 15-dw3000 (1A3X9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

On 12/05/ 2022 my laptop was essentially water boarded. I left my room to make dinner and my laptop was left on the desk with a water cup next to it. Next thing I know when I come back my water cup was tipped over on top of my computer and when I tilted it to the side water poured out of it. Ever since I’ve left it on its side on a towel to air dry and I am unable to open the laptop to see what’s inside. I cannot present this to my dad, he will flip his lid, and I’m unable to drive due to no license, and even then the warranty has expired long ago.

Water on a laptop causes corrosion. Bad contacts are the reason of malfunction. If you power on while still wet inside short circuit can cause damage to the chipset. So first completely be shure that the laptop is dry before you try.
