HP Omen Laptop 17t-ck000

This new HP Omen uses the Omen Gaming Hub to select the desired keyboard lighting.  (Just one color for me.)  After I set it up, it often gets reset to a dark (no lighting) after laptop shutdown.  I then have to open up that Omen Gaming program again to turn the lights back on.  How can I turn it on permanently.  It's getting annoying to have to reset the lighting when I boot the laptop.

I also turn off the touchpad and it too gets reset to "on".   This never happened on a three year old Omen I had before this one.  Once I turned off the touchpad it stayed off.
