Hi,
I've lost my fn and esc function and also the fn and profile settings for the Omen lighting control. The fn and other functions work ok e.g. fn and brightness/ volume/ etc.
I've tried re loading keypad driver and Omen control with no effect.
Is it just a key press or do I have more trouble ?
Thanks
Liam

Enter the PC Diagnostics and test the keyboard. It is an interactive test that will let you test each key.

Thanks for the reply,
It's not a faulty key, its only certain functions are not working with the fn key.
The individual keys are working fine, for example the function and escape key will not bring up the computer information window as it used to.

Have you recently updated the BIOS?

I updated the Bios a few days ago, everything still worked after that.
The battery was low yesterday and I plugged in the power supply but forgot to switch on the mains, so the laptop just switched off, I think it was after this it stopped working

Bummer. If using Windows 8.1, you should have considered doing a Refresh instead. It is food for thought for next time something strange like that happens. 😉
But I am glad your Omen is back up and working as advertized.

Restore is definitely the better and less painful option. Good choice and good work fixing the issue yourself. 🙂
