I just purchased and received a new Windows 11 laptop, but after I finished setting everything up I unfortunately discovered that the internal microphone is not functioning. I attempted the following: installing all Windows and HP BIOS updates, changing privacy permissions. Output audio has been perfectly fine. When I go into the System Sound menu, no device is detected for inputs even though both "Stereo Mix" by Realtek and "Microphone Array" by AMD show up under All Sound Devices. Using the control panel I found that both are listed as disabled, so I enabled Microphone Array, at which point the mic would seem to successfully connect. However, it still does not actually take audio, and when I go back into settings and check the Sound menu for the device it will be set as "Do not allow" for allowing windows/apps to use it and the second I change it to "allow" it just disables the device again. It does not matter if I do both devices together or separately. I also tried using an old pair of bluetooth earbuds, and the same exact thing happened, so I know it's not just the internal mic.
I figure uninstalling a driver is my next best bet, but I have literally no idea which under "sound video and game controllers" on the device manager would be the correct one. Theres like five options and I don't know which is the cause of this issue.
Looking online, I've seen that other people have encountered a similar issue, but I haven't read what exact fix they used, so any advice would be appreciated.

@Rebekah370, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Update Drivers with HP Support Assistant
Open HP Support Assistant (search in the Start menu).
Click Check for Updates and install any updates for your drivers and BIOS.
Reinstall Audio Drivers
Right-click the Start button and choose Device Manager.
Find Sound, video and game controllers, right-click on Realtek Audio or AMD Audio and click Uninstall.
Restart your laptop.
Go to HP’s website and download the latest audio drivers for your laptop.
Enable Microphone in Privacy Settings
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
Make sure Microphone access is turned on for apps.
Enable Microphone in Sound Settings
Right-click the Sound icon in the taskbar, choose Sounds.
Go to the Recording tab, right-click Microphone Array and select Enable.
If it’s disabled, right-click and Enable it.
Run Audio Troubleshooter
Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
Run the Recording Audio troubleshooter to find and fix the issue.
Check Device Manager for Conflicts
Open Device Manager, and check if there are any yellow exclamation marks by audio devices. If so, right-click and Update Driver.
Test Microphone in Control Panel
Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound.
In the Recording tab, make sure the microphone is set to Default.
I hope this helps.
