Hello community,

I want to add a second M.2 SSD, I have a a Samsung 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD but there doesn't seem to be anywhere for the spacer to fix the SSD as the one pictured is too short.

Am I just missing it? If there isn't a slot for the spacer, is there another way to fix it in place?

Thanks in advance

That is very interesting...

The service video shows a standard M.2 2280 slot position for the secondary drive like you expected to see.

Your screenshot shows what appears to be a M.2 slot for a 2230 form factor SSD.

Hi!

Paul, good catch! I did some research and actually the manual mentions 2230 drives on page 2:

There is actually a review about BestBuy 's 8940HX model (16-ap0053dx/BP1Q1UA#ABA) where somebody mentions it:

It seems that the second slot is a full length 2280 when the CPU is one of the Ryzen AIs (most likely scenario) or that the video you linked to is completely wrong and there is one 2280 and one 2230 slot (doesn't seem very probable). Anyways, the good thing is that there are a lot of 2230 PCIe Gen4 drives out there, Crucial even offers one with capacities up to 2TB: CT2000P310SSD2.
