Hi @ritter0901,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion laptop is stuck in a BIOS update and the usual methods, such as powering it off or holding the power button, are not resolving the issue, you may need to take additional steps.
Hard Reset:
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.).
- Disconnect the laptop from the power source.
- Remove the laptop battery if possible (for non-removable batteries, skip this step).
- Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power source (if applicable).
- Power on the laptop.
Perform a BIOS Recovery:
- Visit the HP official website and find your laptop's support page.
- Look for BIOS updates and download the latest version available for your model.
- Follow the instructions provided on the website to create a BIOS recovery USB drive.
- Insert the USB drive into the laptop and power it on.
- The system might detect the USB drive and initiate the BIOS recovery process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
