OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-xf0000 (758R1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I cannot switch on my Omen 16 from my power button. When connected to the AC adapter the charging light is on but it doesnt respond to any command. I have tried windows + B and windows + V and none of them are working. Even the power button light is not switching on.

Hi @Aakrit2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Omen 16 won't turn on despite the charging light being on, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and AC adapter, then try turning it on again.

Check the AC Adapter:

  • Make sure the AC adapter is properly connected and functioning. If possible, try using a different adapter to see if that resolves the issue.

Inspect the Power Port:

  • Check the power port for any debris or damage that might prevent proper connection.

Connect to an External Monitor:

  • If you have one available, connect your laptop to an external monitor to check if the issue might be with the display rather than the entire system.

Remove Peripherals:

  • Disconnect all peripherals (USB devices, external drives, etc.) and try turning on the laptop again.

Check for Indicators:

  • Observe if there are any indicator lights blinking or any sounds when you attempt to power it on. This might give clues about what’s happening.

Try Different Key Combinations:

  • While it sounds like you’ve tried some key combinations, consider pressing Esc + F2 to access the HP Diagnostics screen (if the laptop responds).

Leave It Charging:

  • If the battery is completely drained, leave it connected to the charger for at least 30 minutes before trying to power it on again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
