I’ve tried unplugging and re plugging in the ac adapter multiple times as well as “hard resetting it”. Nothing has worked. Additionally, the white light is active, showing that it is receiving power but I don’t hear any fans or see the computer doing anything. Please help and thank you.

Hi @Lucas_help128

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I'm really sorry your Omen 16t-wd000 isn’t powering on—it’s deeply frustrating when a trusted device goes silent despite all your efforts. Since the white power light is active, we know it’s receiving power, so let’s focus on what might be preventing startup.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help revive your system:

1. Confirm the Hard Reset Was Fully Performed

Sometimes the reset needs a longer hold to discharge residual power.

  • Disconnect the AC adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter and try powering on again.

If your model has a pinhole reset (usually near the vents or on the bottom), insert a paperclip and hold for 10 seconds.

2. Try the Key Combination Boot

Some Omen models respond to a forced boot sequence:

  • With the laptop powered off and AC connected, press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release all keys and wait up to 30 seconds.

This can trigger a BIOS recovery or force the system to initialize.

3. Check for Display Output

It’s possible the system is booting but the display isn’t responding.

  • Connect an external monitor via HDMI or USB-C.
  • Power on the laptop and watch for any signal on the external screen.

If the external display shows activity, the issue may be with the internal panel or display cable.

4. Remove Non-Essential Peripherals

Disconnect all USB devices, SD cards, and external drives.

  • Power on with only the AC adapter connected.
  • This eliminates potential conflicts during POST (Power-On Self-Test).

5. Run HP UEFI Diagnostics (if accessible)

If the screen remains blank but you hear faint fan noise or see keyboard backlight flicker:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Press Esc repeatedly at startup, then press F2.
  • If the diagnostics menu appears, run System Tests > Extensive Test.

More details here: HP PC Hardware Diagnostics – UEFI

6. Inspect the Power Port and LED Behavior

  • Confirm the white LED near the power port stays solid (not blinking).
  • If it blinks or fades, try a different compatible AC adapter if available.

If none of these steps bring the system to life, the issue may lie deeper in the power delivery circuit, embedded controller, or motherboard. You’ve already done a thorough job isolating the basics—let me know how the system responds to these steps and we’ll keep going from there.
