Hi @achioman,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

That sounds frustrating. Being locked out after trying to fix a driver issue is the last thing anyone wants. The F03 error usually indicates a Windows recovery or reset failure, and since the OS isn’t loading, we’ll need to approach this from the firmware and recovery side.

Here’s what you can do before considering service:

1. Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove any external devices.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power and try starting again.

2. Access HP UEFI Diagnostics

  • Power on and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then F2 for diagnostics.
  • Run System Tests to confirm hardware health.

3. Boot to BIOS

  • Press Esc, then F10.
  • Check:
    • Secure Boot = Enabled
    • UEFI Boot Mode = Enabled
    • TPM = Enabled (if available)

4. Attempt HP Recovery

  • Press F11 during startup to enter HP Recovery Environment.
  • If available, choose Reset this PC or System Restore.

5. Create HP Cloud Recovery USB

If F11 doesn’t work:

6. NVIDIA Driver Issue

Once Windows is restored:

  • Use HP Support Assistant or GeForce Experience for the correct driver.
  • Avoid forcing updates outside HP’s recommended versions; they’re tested for your hardware.

If none of these steps work, the OS partition may be corrupted beyond repair, and a clean reinstall is the best option.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
