Dear HP community,

I’m having a repeated hardware failure with my HP Victus 15-fa1008nt (Model 7N9S2EA). I bought it in Turkey on 25 July 2023 and mainly use it for light academic work (coding in R/Python, Word, Excel, research).

In December 2023 (so only a few months after buying), it stopped working, the power button blinked, screen stayed black. HP Germany repaired it and replaced the motherboard and Wi-Fi receiver. It worked again after the repair in January 2024.

On 3 November 2025, it suddenly shut down while gaming (for the first time ever :') and now won’t turn on or charge at all. Unfortunately, I couldn’t back up my data.

The warranty expired in July 2025, but since this is the second major failure of the same kind, I believe it’s a manufacturing defect. I’d like to ask how I can request a goodwill repair (Kulanzreparatur) in Germany and ensure my data is preserved during service.

I am a master's student and I feel quite desperate about it, I don't know what to do - since I have to save my data and I need a computer asap, also it will be very difficult for me to pay the whole price for any repair if the motherboard changes again or so. Thank you for any advice!

You can turn on AutoSave / AutoRecover on your PC. Also use a file recovery software to recover your lost files. Consider adding a Uninterruptible Power Supply to protect against sudden power loss.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I just cannot turn on my laptop now, but I'll keep that in mind for the future 🙂
