Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 (76T53AV)

My gaming laptop is constantly giving a black screen and going into sleep mode while I am playing.

Hello, as I mentioned in the subject, my gaming laptop has been doing this lately and i dont know why its happening.I am waiting a response from HP EMEA right now while i am waiting i wanted to write here.

After that problem happens i can see those lines  ''The Power Manager requested to suppress all inputs (INPUT_SUPPRESS_REQUEST=1)'' and The Power Manager did not request to suppress any inputs (INPUT_SUPPRESS_REQUEST=0).  in Event Viewer.

While this was happening, I was in contact with support, and we did a lot of things: re-installed Windows, updated the BIOS version, and performed a system diagnostic test in BIOS.As you can predict it didnt work at all.Weirdly, rarely I can play without this problem for like an hour, but usually, this thing occurs suddenly the second I get into the game.

any idea what is this and why it is happening?event viewer screenshotevent viewer screenshot

@shouzaii, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your Victus by HP gaming laptop is unexpectedly going into sleep mode or showing a black screen while gaming. Given that you've already reinstalled Windows, updated the BIOS, and run system diagnostics without success, let's dig deeper.

Ensure your laptop is connected to a power source when running high-performance applications.

Power Management Issues

The Event Viewer logs show input_suppress_request, which means the system is suppressing input.

Try This:

  1. Open Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. Type: powercfg /a
  3. If it says S0 Low Power Mode is enabled, you need to disable it:

Turn Off Sleep Mode

  1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings
  2. Set Put the Computer to Sleep to Never.
  3. Click Change Advanced Power Settings and:
  4. PCI Express > Link State Power Management: Set to Off
  5. Processor Power Management > Minimum Processor State: Set to 100% on both plugged in and battery.

GPU Driver Issues

Uninstall & Reinstall Graphics Drivers. You may refer to this guide: HP PCs - Downloading or updating software and drivers | HP® Support

Check Power Settings in NVIDIA Control Panel:

  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. Go to Manage 3D Settings > Power Management Mode.
  3. Set to "Prefer Maximum Performance".

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
