So basically when I play on default mode on my victus after 10 mins the battery discharges while on Ac. This never happens when I’m on quiet mode. I don’t know how and why this happens. Can anyone help me.

Hi @Ty134312

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining what’s happening—it's genuinely frustrating to see your battery drain while plugged in, especially during gameplay. You're absolutely right to expect consistent performance across modes, and I want to help you get back to uninterrupted gaming.

What you're describing is often linked to power draw exceeding the AC adapter's output when the system is under heavy load in default mode. Quiet mode reduces GPU and CPU performance, which lowers power consumption and prevents discharge.

Let’s walk through a few steps to help stabilize power delivery:

Check Your AC Adapter Rating

  • Make sure you're using the original HP 200W adapter that came with your Victus 15.
  • If you're using a lower wattage adapter (e.g., 150W), it may not supply enough power during high-performance loads.

Update BIOS and System Drivers

  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your Victus 15 model and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers to ensure optimal power management.

Adjust OMEN Gaming Hub Settings

  • Open OMEN Gaming Hub → Go to “Performance Control.”
  • Try switching from “Default” to “Balanced” or create a custom profile that limits GPU boost and CPU turbo.
  • This can reduce peak power draw while maintaining good performance.

Disable Battery Boost in OMEN Hub

  • In OMEN Gaming Hub, look for “Battery Boost” or similar settings under “Power.”
  • Disable any features that prioritize battery usage during gameplay.

Monitor Power Usage

  • Use HP Support Assistant to run a battery and power diagnostics.
  • This can help identify if the battery or adapter is underperforming.

Keep the Laptop Cool

  • Overheating can cause power throttling and erratic charging behavior.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and consider elevating the rear of the laptop slightly to improve airflow.

Let me know how it goes after trying these steps. If the issue persists, we can explore more advanced configuration tweaks to keep your system running smoothly.
