Hi @Jashu2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board!

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share the model name of your device?

Meanwhile, you can try these steps.

1. Perform a Hard Power Reset

Disconnect the power adapter.

If your laptop has a removable battery, remove it.

Press and hold the power button for 20–25 seconds to fully discharge any residual power.

Reconnect only the power adapter (leave the battery out for now) and try to power it on.

2. Check for LED or Beep Codes

Watch the power button, caps lock, or num lock LEDs as you try to power it on.

Listen for any beeping sounds.

Note down any blink or beep pattern (e.g., 3 long blinks + 2 short) — these codes indicate specific hardware faults.

3. Inspect External Connections

Unplug all external devices: USB drives, mouse, external displays, docking stations, etc.

Sometimes a faulty peripheral can prevent the laptop from booting.

4. Try With and Without Battery

If your battery is removable:

Try starting the laptop with only the adapter connected.

Then try with only the battery (adapter unplugged).

This helps identify if the power adapter or battery is causing the problem.

5. Ensure the Laptop is Not Overheating

A sudden shutdown plus constant high fan speed often indicates thermal protection kicked in.

Let the laptop cool down for 10–15 minutes in a well-ventilated area before trying again.

6. Reset the Internal Hardware (for Models with a Pin-hole Reset)

Some HP models have a battery reset pin-hole on the underside.

Disconnect the adapter, press a paperclip gently into the hole for 5–10 seconds, reconnect the adapter, and try to power on.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍
