Hi @Vicky185

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP Victus laptop is not turning on, and you're noticing a brief blink of the power button light, there are several steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Basic Troubleshooting Steps

Check the Connections: Ensure that the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet. Try using a different power socket, if possible, to rule out outlet issues.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect all peripheral devices, such as printers, external hard drives, and USB devices.
  • Disconnect the power adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 to 20 seconds to reset the hardware.
  • Reconnect the power adapter and attempt to turn on the laptop.

Battery Check:

  • If your laptop has a removable battery, detach it and press the power button for about 10-15 seconds. Reinsert the battery and try turning on the laptop.
  • If the battery is non-removable, ensure the laptop is connected to the power adapter.

Inspect for Physical Damage: Look for any signs of damage, such as ports or connectors that are loose, or unusual sounds while handling the device. This could indicate hardware issues that require professional inspection.

Check the LED Behavior:

  • If the LED near the charging port is operating normally (usually amber or white depending on charge), focus on whether the power button LED displays any specific patterns (like blinking), which might suggest a hardware error.

Attempt Booting Without Battery: If applicable, try booting the laptop with the battery removed, using only the power adapter.

Advanced Steps

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consider the following:

BIOS or Firmware Issues: Access to BIOS is required for further diagnosis, but the inability to power on restricts this. Consider contacting HP Support to diagnose potential BIOS/firmware problems.

Internal Component Issues: The issue might be related to internal components such as the motherboard, RAM, or processor that may need professional diagnostics.
