Hello
I want to ask if there are any newer BIOS or Intel Management Engine firmware updates available — or planned — for my model.
Recently, after the latest update of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III / Warzone (Ricochet Anti-Cheat), I began receiving a “Firmware Update Required” message when launching the game.
I’ve already verified that everything on my system is up to date and functional:
My Device:
Model: OMEN by HP Laptop PC – 15-ax001ne
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700HQ (6th Gen Skylake)
BIOS: Insyde F.56 Rev.A (December 2020)
Intel Management Engine Firmware: 11.8.50.3470
TPM: Version 2.0 (INTC)
Secure Boot: Enabled
OS: Windows 11 Pro, Build 26100
Everything runs perfectly in Windows — Secure Boot, TPM 2.0, and Memory Integrity are all enabled.
However, Call of Duty refuses to launch, claiming the BIOS firmware is outdated. During the beta version of the game, it worked fine on the same system and firmware, so this problem started only after their new security verification update.
I have already contacted both Activision and Intel Support.
Activision confirmed this issue affects older Intel 6th / 7th Gen systems that use legacy firmware and requested I contact HP to verify if any newer BIOS or Intel ME firmware versions exist — or if F.56 is indeed the final release for my model.
Could you please confirm:
Is BIOS F.56 Rev.A (December 2020) the final BIOS version for this model, or is there a newer one available internally or on request?
Is there a newer Intel Management Engine firmware version (beyond 11.8.50.3470) that can be manually applied?
Does the 15-ax001ne BIOS support VT-d / Kernel DMA Protection, or was it not implemented on this generation?
If HP plans to release a firmware update (even a minor one) to improve compatibility with modern Windows 11 or TPM attestation, could you please confirm?
I have already tried everything possible on my side, including updating BIOS, firmware, and drivers from the HP website and Intel directly. I wouldn’t be posting here unless I had exhausted all other options.
Thank you very much for your time and for escalating this to the appropriate HP firmware or BIOS engineering team.
Best regards,

Hi:
Yes, BIOS v F.56 is the most recent BIOS update HP currently has available and most likely was the last update.
The latest IMEI driver I could find for PC's with the Intel Skylake processors is this one:
2238.3.31.0 HP release date of Oct 19, 2022.
The driver date would be a bit older.
Since this is a peer to peer forum and we don't work for or represent HP, no one here would be able to answer your last two questions.
Please contact HP customer service starting at the link below and address your inquiries to them.
